Our team of skilled VFX artists have created a variety of visual effects for networks such as Netflix, Amazon, ABC, Fox, and HBO, as well as many others. Using the latest technology and VFX tools, the team at CBS Digital aspires to exceed the visions of our clients and deliver exceptional work, which is showcased in this reel.
Produced by ABC for Fox Television, “Grandfathered” features John Stamos as James “Jimmy” Martino, a 51-year-old, lifelong bachelor and successful restaurant owner who discovers that he has both a son and a granddaughter. The VFX for the series ranged from text message bubbles to set extensions and flaming turkeys! One particular episode called for a CG drone, which projected a short animated love letter on the wall of an apartment building. Always a fun and quirky series to work on.
Amazon’s multiple Golden Globe and Emmy winning show, Transparent, revolves around a Los Angeles family and their lives following the discovery that the person they knew as their father is transgender. For three seasons we have created a wide range of visual effects for the show. From basic green screen comps and matte painting to more elaborate shots, such as a full CG chest replacement for a character with a double mastectomy, we support the narrative of this groundbreaking series.
Netflix’s acclaimed Marvel Comics series “Daredevil” entrusted CBS Digital to create the visual effects for one of the most epic scenes in Season 2, the prison fight featuring Frank Castle aka The Punisher. The Punisher punches, stabs, impales, crushes, gouges, and slits his way through the convicts leaving a trail of blood in his wake. The majority of the blood elements used for the scene were shot practically with a RED camera and composited in 4k using Flame. For safety reasons, the weapons the actors used could not have any sharp edges or points. The tips of the weapons such as shivs, hatchets, and wooden sticks were modeled in Maya, and textured and lit in Vray.
